Burchell Edwards sponsors Dorridge Fun Run

MORE SIGN UP FOR DORRIDGE FUN RUN

Entries for the 3rd annual Dorridge Fun Run are already well ahead of last year's figures and are expected to top 600 for 2007. "It's so popular because it's a fun run where you don't have to run!" say the organisers. And as people can walk, cycle, skateboard, take their pet or ride in any kind of non motorised transport - as well as running if they wish - so everyone feels they can take part in and enjoy the event.

But the fun doesn't end with the run. There's an opportunity for all, and especially families, to relax immediately afterwards at the Summer Fair in the grounds of St Philips church. Along with refreshments, a host of games and stalls the atmosphere will be set by a live jazz band and the crowd will even be treated to street theatre this year.

Visitors this year will also have an opportunity to see a scale model and exciting new plans for the proposed redevelopment of the St Philips site in Manor Road Dorridge.

There's a choice of fully marshalled courses covering either 3 or 8 miles through picturesque Warwickshire country lanes.

Malcolm Stent will get the event under way with staggered starts phased to accommodate the different categories of entrants the first being for the cyclists at 10.15 am, runners start at 10.30am, all on Saturday 9th June.

Trophies and prizes will be awarded for best fancy dress, the youngest and oldest finishers and the fastest male and female (8 miles). Certificates are awarded to all finishers.

Entrants can register on the day and entry details are available on the website: www.stphilipsandstjames.org

The event is being generously sponsored by estate agents Burchell Edwards.
