Burchell Edwards helps memorial for two twin baby girls

Mark Brien and Michelle Harding hosted an Auction in memory of their twin girls Ava-May and Kiera-Rose at Moseley Cricket Club on Saturday 18th October 2008.

Ava and Kiera came into the world 12 weeks prematurely and tragically on Ocober 11th their two little angels fell asleep. Mark and Michelle's lives fell apart, however, the support they received from the Premature Baby Unit at Heartlands Hospital was outstanding.

Mark Brien commented "The staff and support network within the unit all went over and above the call of duty to ensure everything we needed was available. At that time nothing could be said or done to make our situation any more bearable, however, we can now look back and realise it was that support and care that this unit gave us and continues to give parents in our unfortunate position that got us through it. We really wanted to give something back to the people who looked after us."

Burchell Edwards Estate Agents were proud supporters of the event. Auctioneer Paul Vickerstaff and Area Director for Burchell Edwards said:

"We are proud to be part of a continuing campaign of support for local community events. What could be more fitting than to help raise money for such a worthwhile charity."

Michelle Harding, organiser of the Auction commented "The outstanding success of the Auction that raised nearly £8,000 for the Neo Natal Trust Fund was a true reflection of the dedication of the family and friends involved. We could not have achieved such a successful result without the support of Burchell Edwards, they have become a valuable help to the cause. Thank you so much. We also thank all of the people and businesses who made donations and for their wholehearted support."

It costs approximately £1,000 every child each day to be cared for in the Premature Baby Unit at Heartlands Hospital and as with many units it struggles with financing. Mark and Michelle's aim is to reach £10,000 for the charity, therefore any person wishing to make a donation should contact Michelle Harding on 07739 396282.
